Tennis Europe Junior Masters: Meet the Players

The 28 players announced today (full list and player profiles below) have collectively won an impressive 870 singles matches on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour this season and have captured a total of 56 singles titles between them.

In the Boys’ 14 & Under category, the field is led by top ranked Rafael Pagonis (GRE), who has enjoyed an extraordinary year on the Tour, lifting seven trophies, including the most important of all, the European Junior Championships. He is followed by his conqueror in the Wimbledon 14&U Invitational final, Moritz Freitag (AUT) and Luys Calin (GER).

On the girls’ side, the top spot is taken by Elizaveta Anikina (EST), who also claimed seven titles this season. Meanwhile, Grace Bernstein (SWE) and Emilia Henningsen (DEN) secured their spots at the very last minute, ensuring that no rivals could overtake them in the Race to Monte-Carlo rankings by reaching the final of last week’s Super Category event in Barcelona.

The 16 & Under draws will be led by Sebastian Tejerina (POL) and Maria Valentina Pop (ROU). In the boys’ competition, European Championship silver medallist Stan Put (NED) will also feature, while on the girls’ side, reigning champion Tea Kovacevic (BIH) returns to Monte Carlo aiming to defend her 2024 title.

A total of 20 nations will be represented, with Romania and Poland leading the way with three qualifiers each. Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Ukraine follow with two players each. Four wild cards – one in each event – will be announced in the following days.

First held in 1996, the Tennis Europe Junior Masters holds an extraordinary list of former champions, including Rafael Nadal, Kim Clijsters, Alexander Zverev and Belinda Bencic. The event is played in a round-robin format, with each age category featuring eight players split into two groups of four. The winners of each group will advance to Saturday’s finals.

The tournament will be hosted by the Monegasque Tennis Federation for a fifth consecutive year. Tennis Europe is teaming up with Save My Play & iON Sport to ensure that fans can follow all the action via live scoring and live streaming on the Tennis Europe website and YouTube channel, with coverage also available on the Tennis Channel. The finals will also be broadcast live on TV Monaco and Monaco INFO.
