European Senior Club Championships
Since its inception in 1983, the European Senior Club Championships have become an immensely popular event, played in late summer and offering a rare opportunity for the continent's best amateur players to compete in an international team competition. The event is open to Senior league club teams (National Champions in their countries) and also runner-ups of the previous year.
2020 European Senior Club Championships cancelled
13.10.2020 - Tennis Europe and La Manga Club have announced the cancellation of the 2020 European Senior Club Championships.
The event, which was due to take place at the award-winning resort in Murcia, Spain in December, will return in 2021.
Uncertainty caused by the general health situation and ongoing travel restrictions in place across the region led to the decision to cancel the popular team competition for the first time since its creation in 1983.
Tennis Europe is already working to establish dates for the 2021 event, which will incorporate the ITF’s new age categories of 30+ and 90+. Another bonus for players will see the introduction of ITF Senior ranking points for the European Senior Club Championships.
Further announcements will be made in due course.
